Since many parks were orchards in their former lives, fruit trees are found in a large number of Seattle’s parks. These include the Amy Yee Tennis Center, Martha Washington Park in south Seattle, the Dr. Jose Rizal Park on Beacon Hill, and Plum Tree Park in the Central Area.

City Fruit is partnering with community groups to steward these trees. For example, at the Amy Yee Tennis Center, a historic apple orchard is being rehabilitated through the efforts of the YMCA WAGES program, the Community Fruit Tree Harvest at Solid Ground, the Seattle Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment program, and City Fruit.
