Phinney Sustainable Fruit HarvestThe Phinney Sustainable Fruit Harvest is unique because it is exploring ways to make neighborhood harvesting sustainable. In addition to harvesting and donating fruit, the project is developing a model through which neighborhood harvests can meet their own operating costs from year to year. More...
Urban Fruit Tree MappingThe City Fruit mapping project has developed a simple way to map fruit trees from a computer terminal or a mobile device, like a cell phone. Individuals tree owners and other urban residents are urged to map fruit trees, and by doing so, create a grassroots inventory of a so far undocumented urban resource. More...
Workshops & ClassesCity Fruit sponsors a variety of hands-on workshops for fruit tree owners. Most of these take place in front of trees and are organized by neighborhood. Classes planned for fall 2009 include jam-making, canning and summer fruit tree pruning. More...
Fruit Trees & City ParksCity Fruit is partnering with community groups to steward fruit trees in city parks. For example, at the Amy Yee Tennis Center, a historic apple orchard is being rehabilitated through the efforts of the YMCA WAGES program, the Community Fruit Tree Harvest at Solid Ground, the Seattle Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment program, and City Fruit.
