Join Now!

2009 was City Fruit's first full year in operation. We worked hard and accomplished a lot. Primarily it was a learning year for us that sets us up for a great 2010.

Below are the highlights, but you can find the full report here.

Birthday

City Fruit celebrated its first full year in existance.

Harvest

43 volunteers in two neighborhoods picked more than 10,000 pounds of fruit from over 100 trees.

Classes

We did a total of six classes across the city on a variety of subjects including canning, pruning, pest control, and fruit drying.

Map

Working with University of Washington students we created a fruit tree map of Seattle and we registered more than 650 trees.

Technology

We launched the website, blog, and Facebook page.

Press

Was a great year getting our name & mission out there. We got a few mentions in the Seattle Times, were on both KUOW and KIRO, and got some traction in local blogs.
