Late summer is a great time to prune fruit trees: some say the best time. Trees are beginning to go dormant, so pruning doesn’t stimulate new growth. Ingela Wanerstrand is owner of Green Darner Garden Design, teaches a class on growing fruit with the Edmonds Community College horticulture program, and has more than fifteen years’ experience growing and pruning fruit trees.
This class is part of the Second Sunday (and One Saturday) Series of fruit tree care classes put on by City People’s Garden Store and City Fruit. The workshop is free: call City People’s at 206-324-0737 or email them at email@example.com to register.
