Espalier treeLearn the art and craft of Espalier fruit trees

Apples and pears produce fruit on older wood, and encouraging spur development produces more fruit.  Espalier trees are great for spur production.  The class covers the basics of apple/pear tree pruning and discusses how to develop an espalier tree.  The first hour will be spent in the classroom and the second will be a hands-on pruning demonstration.

Instructor Bill Wanless is co-owner of brooke/wanless gardens, a garden care and pruning service.  He is an ISA certified arborist with over 20 years field experience. He specializes in pruning small trees, shrubs and vines, including fruit-bearing plants.
