Learn why mason bees are valuable pollinators in the urban orchard. This workshop will cover the life cycle of orchard mason bees, pollination by solitary bees, parasites and diseases, and the pros and cons of different types of bee blocks. Cocoons will be available to observe and students will learn about DIY bee blocks. Instructor Patrick Mann is a hobby orchardist and an urban orchard steward at Brandon Triangle Orchard in south Seattle.
