Mason bees are important orchard pollinators. In this workshop, instructor Patrick Mann will review the life-cycle and behavior of mason bees. Building on that, he’ll discuss the pros and cons of common techniques for keeping mason bees. After attending this class, you will have all the information you need to successfully establish and maintain a colony of gentle pollinators in your own garden.
About the Instructor
Patrick Mann is an avid gardener, hobby orchardist, and beekeeper (and a software engineer in real life). He grew up in rural southern Germany. Since moving to Seattle in 2000, he’s been pursuing his interests in permaculture and organic gardening, while learning to deal with the challenges of the PNW climate.
