Looking for a way to combine fruit, efficient production, and beauty in your yard? Join us for our March meeting where Lori Brakken, past president of Seattle Tree Fruit Society, will discuss the building of her beautiful Belgian Fence.
The March meeting of the Snohomish County Fruit Society is the Multipurpose Room of the Snohomish Library on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 7pm. The meeting is open to the public. For information, contact Bekie Jackson (President) at (425) 398-5544 or email at Snohomishcfs@gmail.com
Speaker background: Lori was raised in fruit country in California’s Central Valley, studied and worked in Home & Landscape Design with Architects, in Nurseries, and in her own business until moving to the Pacific Northwest in January 2000. Upon arriving in the PNW, she took horticulture classes at Edmonds Community College to get acclimated to our climate. She lives on a challenging, mossy covered, north-facing steep slope in Lake Forest Park. As she has been interested in fruit growing, she is concentrating on finding her way to successfully accomplish that in a quite challenging environment. In addition to building her Belgian Fence, she is currently building terraced espalier and developing Apple Id Program currently used and available on the Seattle Tree Fruit Society website.
